Changing of the Guard
Francesca Mae T. Pantig, M.D.

Change has come to the PIDSP Journal with the transition of leadership to the new editors-in-chief, and I am privileged to share this role with Dr. Paul Sherwin O. Tarnate. We commend Dr. Arlene Dy-Co and Dr. Carmina Delos Reyes, who have led the Journal since 2016. Over the past decade, they have elevated the PIDSP Journal through signi!cant efforts: maintaining high-quality, timely publications twice a year; creating an online platform for article submission; embarking on the long, arduous journey toward Scopus indexing; and solidifying the
PIDSP Journal’s presence in the !eld of pediatric infectious diseases. We are likewise grateful for the support of the pillars of the Journal, Dr. Cecilia Maramba-Lazarte and Dr. Lulu C. Bravo, giants on whose shoulders we now stand as we seek to advance the Journal further.

The PIDSP Journal is entering a period of rapid advances in the publication landscape. The Journal has made signi!cant strides in developing E-REVIEWS (Enhancing Research Dissemination Through the Development of an Ef!cient Web-based Journal Management System), an online platform that streamlines the Journal’s work”ow for manuscript submissions, peer review, and editorial processes. The EREVIEWS platform will be launched on the PIDSP website very soon.

The journey toward Scopus indexing has long been a dream for the PIDSP Journal, and we have begun taking the !rst steps toward achieving it. We hope to see this milestone realized to broaden the Journal’s reach and increase the visibility of our locally published research within the global scientific community.
